Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is Remedial massage therapy?

Remedial Massage uses effective and varied musculoskeletal techniques to provide relief to tight or injured muscles and soft tissue. It will help relieve pain and restore function to tight or injured muscles and joints. Techniques used  include: relaxation /therapeutic massage, trigger point therapy, positional release techniques, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, and deep tissue massage. Stretches and exercises are usually given for continued healing.

Q What are the health benefits of massage therapy?
Massage increases muscular health, vitality, endurance and restores flexibility, mobility and strength to muscles using manual manipulation of soft tissue. Massage increases blood flow to soft tissue, releases endorphins to help with relaxation, loosens superficial to deep connective tissue, breaks up scar tissue and invigorates the firing of nerve impulses to your muscles. Massage also frees built up toxins and stagnant blood in your soft tissue and helps the flow of lymph in the lymphatic system. Massage loosens stringy and tense muscles and releases trigger points that cause referred and localized pain, headaches, sharp shooting pains and dull aches.

30 min treatment - $40

Q How often should I come and get a massage?

Depending on your condition and what the purpose of your treatments was. Its highly recommended for people in high stress, or high work load occupations to get regular treatments, such as once a fortnight of once a month for preventative measures. If you had an injury it could take between 4 - 12 weeks, once a week to recover and rehabilitate you back to optimal health.

Q Do I have to take off my clothes?

It’s not compulsory to disrobe for a massage treatment, although in most situations clothes are taken off so oils can be used, making certain techniques easier to perform and more effective. Seated massages in a corporate setting are always done with clothes on, using different techniques to loosen muscles.
