Relaxation massage (also known as Swedish Massage) uses soothing techniques to provide complete relaxation of your mind and body. Massage is well known to relieve stress, anxiety, muscular discomfort, tension headaches and muscle stiffness. Relaxation massage can help you relax and soothe away everyday stresses and strains, as well as helping prevent greater emotional and physical problems.
Remedial Massage uses effective and varied musculoskeletal techniques to provide relief to tight or injured muscles and soft tissue. It will help relieve pain and restore function to tight or injured muscles and joints. Techniques used can include: trigger point therapy, positional release techniques, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, deep tissue massage. Stretches and exercises are usually given for continued healing.
Pregnancy is a state of wellness that is accompanied with many musculoskeletal changes. These changes affect joints, ligaments, muscles and even the organs of the body. Often there is associated pain especially in the lower back and legs. Appropriate massage techniques are required to allow these body changes to continue but minimise the associated discomfort and pain. Pregnancy massage can be performed throughout the pregnancy. Cupping Most people know that this ancient practice has been in use in China for thousands of years but it has also been used in Europe for centuries to treat many ailments. It is commonly used today to treat muscular aches and pains. Cupping acts on the muscle by pulling on it, similar to deep massage. Cupping will help draw out waste products and toxins in the muscles to the surface ready for the body to eliminate. As a result of this waste movement cupping can result in light to dark purple circles on the site of application. These generally fade quickly. Cupping can be used in conjunction with massage or alone in a treatment session. Lymphatic Draining Lymphatic massage is quite different from deep tissue or sports style massage, because it focusses on a different system on the body. The Lyphatic system. To understand how lymphatic drainage techniques work you need to know how the lymphatic system works. The lymphatic system is much like the cardiovastular system with its vessles which run all over the body. The main difference though is that the lymphatic system doesn't have a pump like the heart to help with flow. The lyphatic system is apart of the immune system.
